Saddle's Story...
Saddle is a 6 month old Beagle mix puppy. She became a Tall Tails dog before she was even born. Her sweet mother Penelope came to us heavy with puppies and we had to scramble to find an appropriate foster to take her and see her through her delivery and the puppies early life. We did find a perfect foster and Penelope gave birth to 12 puppies, 10 of which survived.

Saddle and her siblings were overseen from birth by an army of Tall Tails volunteers . The puppies from the night that they were born were handled and loved by our volunteers and Penelope’s wonderful foster parents. Therefore it is not a surprise that Saddle is a happy, well socialized girl who loves everyone that she meets. She especially loves children and so far there has not been a dog that Saddle does not get along with. She has not been exposed to cats but if she is carefully introduced to them she will undoubtedly get along with them well also.

Saddle is a typical adolescent beagle. She is energetic, stubborn, mischievous and playful. She was originally adopted at 8 weeks into a home where her people were not experienced in raising a beagle puppy. Her boundaries were not well defined and when she grew into adolescence she became a handful for her owners. As a typical beagle puppy, Saddle needs lots of exercise and structure in her life. Like any young rambunctious puppy, besides lots of love, she needs supervision and guidance so that she can grow up to be a valued member of her family.

The ideal home for Saddle would be with experienced dog parents with a sense of humor who will patiently guide her through her adolescence. She would benefit greatly from a basic obedience class and would be a willing and able hiking companion for an active family. Saddle would fit well  as a part of a family with children of any age due to her happy, sweet and loving nature.

Hopefully, her new family will also give her a new name, since Saddle, which describes her puppy markings, does not do justice to a lovely feminine dog such as she is.

If Saddle sounds like a dog that will fit in your home, please come to our kennel and meet her. She will melt your heart.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Saddle, a Freeport Beagle puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Freeport, or seeking a Beagle puppy from a breeder in Freeport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Freeport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Freeport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Freeport paves the way for another one to be saved.
