My name is GoDiva!

Eclectus for adoption in Grandview, Missouri - GoDiva

I found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

GoDiva's Info...

I am a special needs pet, in need of an experienced adopter, not good with kids, and not good with birds.

GoDiva's Story...
GoDiva came to us almost completely naked 9 months ago, so her name was Godiva. Because of her attitude, we tended to call her Diva, so we just changed her name to GoDiva. After months of treatment, we have cured her of the infections that caused her to mutilate her feet until she lost a toe, and her feathers are growing in so she actually has wing feathers and a tail now. We will only adopt her out to someone who lives nearby in case her self-mutilation flares up again (which we don't expect because she has been doing great for over 6 months now) and she requires more treatment (at our expense). She was handfed as a baby, but was set up for breeding and wasn't handled for years, so she is not very tame, but may calm down if you are patient with her.

Our birds are not available for breeding and we do not ship birds. Potential adopters must call 816-356-4700 for an appointment, and must fill out an adoption application and pass a screening interview to ensure that our birds are going to a safe home. There is usually a 48 hour waiting period after your interview before you are allowed to adopt because we want people to take time and think thru their decision.

Adoption fee for this bird is $250

Why Adoption is a Great Option

GoDiva, a Grandview Eclectus was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Eclectus for sale in Grandview, or seeking a Eclectus from a breeder in Grandview.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grandview already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grandview breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Eclectus breeders who help with Eclectus rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grandview paves the way for another one to be saved.
