Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Mother’s little helper. This sweet girl adores kids and dogs and family life. She is a playmate, a dog pillow, a tear remover, and a snack cleaner upper all rolled into a wiggly, kissy 37 lbs.
Loretta enjoys frolicking with other dogs. She is a social girl and gets along with every dog she meets. She also loves lounging inside on her cozy bed with toys and bones. She is truly family-centric, wanting to be in the midst of whatever is going on inside or out. She is good off leash, just wanting to stay near her family. Did I mention that she is smart? In her first week in foster care she learned sit, down, roll over, crawl and wait. She sits (still slightly wiggling with joy) for her meals, getting leashed, going out or coming in. This is a highly trainable dog. She wants to please and will work for food and love. She also walks very nicely on leash, is house-trained, mannerly, quiet (she rarely barks, just to let you know someone has come up the drive) and very gentle and trustworthy with kids.
Loretta is a one year old mountain cur mix. Her interests include: Chasing squirrels from your bird feeders, snuggling your kids, making merriment, and sitting calmly in the kitchen or office while you work, waiting for you to recognize how outstanding she is.
She has the ability to join you on energetic romps or just relax indoors. She takes things a bit slowly in getting to know men and has the desire to bond, but like all really awesome girls, she’s worth the effort.
In her foster home Loretta has done well with dog savvy cats, but is not a good match for families with small animals or cats likely to run from dogs. She has the ‘chase’ instinct but has been respectful toward cats that stand their ground.
If you are in need of an outstanding family member who helps out with the kids, adapts easily, learns quickly, and loves deeply, then please consider Loretta as an addition to your family.
