My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HARLEY is a 3 year old neutered black male Lab who weighs 40 pounds. HARLEY is a really nice dog who got a bum rap from chasing chickens and was send to the shelter. Harley was scared and sad when I first arrived and met him at the shelter. I waited for him to approach me and offered him a treat. He was hesitant for the first one (ate it off the ground) but he took the next dozen right from my hand and very gently. I let him sniff my hand and slowly reached out to pet him; he had no issues with me petting his head and after a minute was leaning into me. Definitely seemed to enjoy it, and didn't mind when I petted all the way down his back and on his legs. Harley is a bit on the shy side and was a little hand shy a few times when I moved too quickly near his head, but he shows no signs of aggression at all. He walks on the leash great, no pulling. After about 5 minutes outside he stopped shaking and after about 15 minutes he un-tucked his tail and visibly relaxed. Harley is a very sweet boy who was incredibly scared at the shelter. He may need some time to realize he can trust you and a couple of pets to know you aren't going to harm him but he's a nice dog who will do great with patient people that want to love him and not drop him at a shelter because he goes after chickens. This dog definitely deserves a good life. He had no reaction to other dogs he met, acted submissive. NOTE: Harley CAN and WILL climb a chain link fence. He must have a 6' fence or no fence at all (and be on leash). He is approved for kids 10+. More info soon!

10/21: Harley is sweet and petite and loves to give kisses. Harley is good with other dogs. He is not approved for cats. Harley is shy at first, but quickly warms up to new people. He is house and crate trained and is a fantastic walker. Harley rides well in the car and has great manners in the house. He knows Sit and will come when you call his name. Harley takes treats very gently and loves being petted. He sleeps through the night in his crate without issue. He is mellow in the house and just moseys around when his people are up and about. Harley is quite the acrobat and can climb a chain link fence, so he would do best in a home with a 6 foot fence, or where he will be kept on leash when outside.
