My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

It isn't everyday that a dog gets the honor of MAYOR'S DOG OF THE WEEK. Stacy was selected from the 400 or so canine population at the high-kill shelter in Houston to receive this Mayor's award. Stacy, at just about 1 year old and 14 lbs, has the engaging personality and sweet, loving way that attracts both humans and dogs to her. Stacy's very popular at the shelter - the other pups treat her like a celebrity and all want to be her friend. She takes it all in stride.. maintaining her sweet nature and getting just a bit more attention because she's so very pleasant. Stacy has now left the shelter and has been introduced to her Texas foster home while she waits for her transport to Denver...she's so excited! It's during this time period that Stacy is reminded of her house skills and fine-tunes her already great socialization skills. Stacy is unusual for a rescue pup just hours away from euthanasia at a very tough shelter...she is very well adjusted with a friendly and engaging personality. We feel that Stacy had been truly loved at some point in her life. She shows no sign of ever being intimidated or mistreated by a human or dog - she just goes about her life with a big smile and positive outlook. Farfel's is searching for either a dog-crazy family with children 10+ who would enjoy Stacy's young energy and would love a furry friend to accompany them on their adventures.. She'd be great at the soccer field or as a school mascot (She was a middle school mascot in Texas for a week and loved it!) Stacy would also be the best companion ever for an active retired couple or individual. She would be overjoyed with walking the beautiful Colorado trails and is the perfect size for joining in on almost anything. Stacy would love traveling both by car and plane (under the seat in the cabin only) and is so engaging, she'd make friends no matter where she goes. At day's end, she can wind down quickly and be a great couch companion...she'd love the belly rubs and positive attention that comes with being a best friend. Stacy is a non-shedding dog with a cotton-soft coat. She will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her silver coat healthy, gorgeous and matt-free. Stacy will arrive on transport in Denver on 10/24. Applications are currently being accepted for this devoted best friend and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/.
