Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Name: Millie
Sex: Female
Breed: Lab, Pit Mix?
Age: approx 2 yrs old
Weight: ~45 lbs
Good with: ** People of all sizes :) ** Dogs ** Cats **
Millie is a sweet girl, who is approximately 2 years old. She is now is being locally fostered in the Boston area. Millie was a house dog previously but was surrendered to a very high kill facility due to financial reasons. Black dogs tend to be euthanized quickly but STAR saved her just before before she was scheduled for euthanasia. Millie's foster mom says: She has a long list of "excellent marks"... she is excellent in the car, on the leash (we had a nice long hike in the woods), with cats, with people including children, with other dogs and with her manners. She is just excellent all around and once her skin condition is resolved*, she will make some very lucky family so happy. She is a "shadow" and always wants to be by her people. She loves to cuddle and bury her head into your chest for love. She is probably the most affectionate dog I've ever met, and very smart too! She listens to commands. I make her sit before feeding her. She eats quickly and will slowly mosey over to my other dogs eating area but a simple, "Millie No" and she stops advancing. She is just wonderful. I did crate her the first night because of the "unknowns" but did not crate her last night. She slept in my bed with me and my other dog (I need a bigger bed) and didn't move all night. She doesn't even snore! If you are interested in adopting her, please complete our adoption application at www.survivortails.org!
Please note: We can only foster or adopt in the states of Massachusetts and New Hampshire
*Millie was likely allergic to her food or so stressed at the shelter she lost some of her fur. After several negative scraps for mange etc she has started to heal on a quality grain free food and lots of TLC
