My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey, my name is Dory and I am about 2 years old. They think I could be a pug/beagle mix, but it’s possible there is some other cute little pup breeds in me! I was on the euthanasia list in Memphis, TN and the shelter workers told me I was never going to get adopted because I was mean. They put me in the stray room which meant I would sit and wait for my day to be put to sleep. Luckily, Blues City wasn’t going to accept that and they came to see me on a warm Friday afternoon (the day I was set to be killed). They took me outside and let me run around and play. I met a new dog friend and got to play fetch with the tennis ball. I even got to give a nice lady some kisses!

Turns out, there’s nothing mean about me! The nice ladies told me I had to stay a couple more nights but they’d be back to get me. AND THEY DID!

On my second day of freedom, mom brought me to an adoption event where there were lots of big dogs and little dogs and puppies – and I got along with everyone! When mom would give my leash to someone else and go away from me, I didn’t like it very much. She is my favorite person. She keeps telling me that one day I am going to go to my very own forever home where I will get to meet my new favorite person. I know that will be my very favorite day!

I am spayed, up to date on vaccinations and I’ve been dewormed. Currently, my only fault is I don’t really like cats. They kind of freak me out. I would never eat one (ew, gross) but I just prefer not to have to look at them.

No one really knows my past, because I can’t actually tell them my story, but that’s okay. The past is the past. Now, I look forward to 6pm when mom gets home from work and I can run around and play with my foster sister. I love to sit on the couch and watch TV with mom, and I really like to play tug of war with my foster sister. I’m also a big fan of putting my little face out the window and feeling the wind on my face in the car! My favorite time of the day is night time, because I get to curl up next to mom’s legs and go to sleep on the bed. Mom says I’m really spoiled, but that it’s okay because I deserve to be loved!
