Leo's Story...
Meet gorgeous Leo! Leo was at a high kill shelter and we saw that face and couldn't let him die. He is such a total sweetheart. He is everything you could love about a shepherd-golden mix; loyal, playful, affectionate, and a ball of fun. He is on the smaller side, only about 35 lbs. Leo is a doll! Leo had a bit of a skin condition called Demodex which is easily treatable and not contagious. Save a Best Friend working with a vet has treated Leo and the few patches where the fur was missing, it is already growing back! He is almost as good as new! He will soon be his gorgeous, handsome self in no time so please don't let this small issues hold you back from meeting this amazing boy!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Leo, a Winsted German Shepherd Dog/Spaniel (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Spaniel (Unknown Type) for sale in Winsted, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Spaniel (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Winsted.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Winsted already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Winsted breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Spaniel (Unknown Type) breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Spaniel (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Winsted paves the way for another one to be saved.
