My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shy was welcomed into OSCAR from an animal control facility in Idaho. She is estimated to be nearly two years old and we guess that she is a border collie, shepherd mix. Shy is in good health; she is up to date on shots and scheduled to be spayed soon. We have reason to believe that Shy had a litter of puppies this year.
While we may not know everything about Shy's past, we can already tell that she has the personality for a very bright future. Shy is good with people and dogs of all sizes. She is completely house trained, never having had an accident at her foster parents' home. She prefers not to be crated but once the house is empty, she settles in without being destructive. Her foster parents have been able to successfully leave her out in the house for a number of hours, although they say she does collect the possessions of her favorite person. They often find her cuddling with foster mom's shoes in the middle of the room. She enjoys her toys and food without being obsessive or possessive. Swimming is still a little odd to her but she doesn't have any hesitations to wading in the water, which will make summers with Shy really fun.
One thing that Shy brought with her from her past life in Idaho, is a passion for children. From what we were told, she was known to leave home to go play with the kids at recess at the nearby school. Unfortunately, this is how Shy found herself in puppy jail more than anyone would have liked until one day, her old owners stopped coming to get her.
The thing about Shy is that she is very smart. She already knows sit, down, no, go, off, stay, shake, other shake, and roll over. If you are offering reward, she exhibits a deliberate thought process to determine what act you are looking for. Shy has the potential to be an excellently trained dog in whatever field you desire and a challenge is exactly what she needs. The best home for Shy is one that is active and willing to exercise both her body and mind. She's ready to be the team member you've been looking for!
We have yet to test Shy's prey drive, so if you have cats or small livestock, please let us know when inquiring.

Shy is being fostered in Ellensburg Washington and her adoption fee is $250
