My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Handsome Abear is approximately two years old. He's a very sweet and loving boy who loves to run outside and play with other friendly dogs. He does well with small dogs, but he doesn't realize he's much larger and can sometimes be too playful. But make no mistake, this fella loves dogs of all sizes.

He came to us from a high kill shelter just before his time was up. He has made great strides while in our care (over a year with us). He is currently staying with a dog trainer at her facility. She says he's a wonderful dog and will make a fabulous furry family member.

During his stay at within our rescue, he has been in a foster home with small children. The loud noise and chaos that children can bring to an environment is frightening for him, as well as unexpected/loud noises outside (such as sirens, loud music, horns honking). he is currently staying with Angela of ACE Dog Training. She has identified the things that make Abear comfortable and relaxed. We are using her recommendations as criteria for his potential adopters please see below:

--large fenced in area where he can run and play
--a calm household with no children under the age of 12
--a rural/country/quiet outdoor setting
--another friendly dog to play with (smaller dogs would require an assessment to make sure their playfulness is compatible--because Abear is very ecstatic when it comes to playing with his buddies:-)

Given these elements, Abear will thrive and be a happy-go-lucky dog. He is beautiful and sweet and sincere and goofy all at the same time! A total gem just waiting for his forever to begin.

If you are interested in learning more about him or potentially adopting him please contact Blue Sky Dog Rescue. We can put you in touch with his previous foster family and Angela, the dog trainer with whom he is currently working. Both love him to pieces and want nothing more than for him to be a cherished family member. You can see more pictures and videos of him if you go to ACE Dog Training on Facebook. You can scroll through the many wonderful pictures and videos Angela has taken of him.
