Introducing Peaches, a Maltese mix, who lost her home through no fault of her own. In fact, she was an unclaimed stray which is enough to rattle any dog. She was extremely stressed when she first arrived but has been making progress. She is beginning to trust and appreciate being held and comforted. She needs to get some playfulness back in her life. Terri still has attitude and will try to nip if startled or becomes fearful. Despite being “ornery” at times, she is slowing becoming a favorite at the Centre. Peaches’ present unpredictability means she is not suitable for a family with children. This little moppet requires an experienced guardian who will use positive reinforcement to bring out the best in her. She is very motivated by food rewards and this may help in encouraging good behaviour. Are you that special, patient person who is willing to bring out the best in Peaches?
