Birdie's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Birdie's Story...
Birdie is an oh so sweet Bloodhound mix girl weighing about 60 lbs. She's a loving snuggly girl...not your typical hound like dog. She's young (we think 1 yr), so she likes to play, but is a medium to low energy dog most of the time. She rides well in the car, is good with adults, kids and other dogs. Birdie needs a fenced yard...not invisible fence.
(An adoption donation of $250 is required.) If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out the CHEW Adoption Application you can find on the Adoption page of our website:, If you have previously submitted an application form, there is no need to re-apply. Just let us know you're interested in this dog. We do our best to match families and dogs so everyone is pleased and the placement is permanent. We reserve the right to refuse an applicant if the home situation is incompatible with the needs of the rescue dog. Rescue is about doing our best for the dog. We do home and reference checks.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Birdie, a Gig Harbor Bloodhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bloodhound for sale in Gig Harbor, or seeking a Bloodhound dog from a breeder in Gig Harbor.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gig Harbor already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gig Harbor breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bloodhound breeders who help with Bloodhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gig Harbor paves the way for another one to be saved.
