My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet sweet Pumpkin, a petite, fifteen pound, five year old Beagle/Hound mix. She spent almost a month at the shelter after she was abandoned by her family who left her tied up outside the shelter, but that did nothing to inhibit her cheerful spirit. She is a friendly little girl who has liked all of the people and all of the dogs she has met. She settled into her foster home immediately and is already house- and leash trained. She rides well in the car and, from the first night, she picked a dog bed in her foster parents’ bedroom and slept through the night. She waits to be invited into a lap, but once she is there she is quite the snuggler. True to her scent hound roots, she loves to smell all of her new surroundings and enjoys the yard, but, after a little exploring, she comes back to the door and comes inside. She hasn’t shown any inclination to want to roam, but scent hounds are tempted to follow their noses, so she needs a home with a very secure fence and she should never be left out in the yard. A family who is looking for a clever, loving, and easy-going little girl, could not do any better than darling Pumpkin.
