Anna's Story...
Meet Anna! She's a 4 month old pit bull mix. Anna and her brother and sisters were some of the 67 animals that were rescued from the Fayette SPCA. They arrived at AFW in very poor condition and required round the clock care to nurse them back to health. Anna and her siblings have proven to be fighters and are now in good health.

Anna is a sweet girl and loves to play, what puppy doesn't? Since she is so young, please make sure you're ready to commit to all the care and training a puppy requires.

Appointments must be made to meet Anna, as she is not always at the shelter. Please call or email Animal Friends of Westmoreland for more information.

You can see some of our adoptable pets almost every Saturday at the Petsmart in Greensburg from noon to 6pm and some Sundays too. All adoption fees include spay/neuter and up-to-date vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Anna, a Youngwood Pit Bull Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier puppy from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
