Sammy's Story...
My name is Sammy, and I was brought into the shelter because my family could not keep me. I am a 4yr old Torti short hair, with pretty green eyes. As a bonus, I am already microchipped. I have a tendency to be very shy, so it can sometimes take time for me to warm up to people. Loud noise and commotion may make me hide, but with patience and time I will feel right at home. I may feel more comfortable as an only cat. I do love attention, love being petted, and would love to have a home where I can relax and feel safe. Are you the patient, kind, loving new family for me? If you are, please come rescue me. What a great puuuurrrrsonality I have...it would be a shame to pass me up.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sammy, a El Cajon Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
