Hello! My name is Mr. Bird and I am a 10 year old Military Macaw. Several years ago, my owner passed away. Since then, I have gone without any human handling or companionship until I recently came to Florida Parrot Rescue. I began to pluck my feathers from the stress and I missed being loved on so much - so now I am making up for it! I am VERY affectionate and my foster family says I am super sweet! I am even letting my feathers begin to grow in now and my foster Mom says she thinks they will all grow back over time. I can talk a little, I sometimes say “Hello” and also what sounds like “Ellen”, which was probably my previous owners name. I am not too vocal and I don’t bite, I just love people too much to do that! My foster family says that I am a perfect gentleman and will fit in to most any family –as long as you promise lots of attention and cuddle time! Please come meet me soon so I can once again have a family of my own!

An avian veterinarian has properly vetted all birds before they are placed up for adoption. Adoption fees include the bird’s cage IF the bird has a cage - most do, but please ask!
Parakeets, Cockatiels, Lovebirds: Fee’s for these birds are optional, but please consider donating any amount you can afford – your donations allow us to help more animals in need!
