Roscoe's Story...
Hello – my name is Roscoe. I’m looking for a loving forever home.

I am a 5 year old male Dachshund (Dapple) who weighs 12.5 pounds. I have big beautiful blue eyes and little short legs, but that doesn’t stop me from moving out in the backyard with my other doggie friends.

I can be rather shy the first time you meet me, but once you pet my nose and scratch my back, I’m your best friend forever.

Since I’ve come into Puppy Pals Rescue, I’ve been neutered, had shots updated, been fecal and heartworm tested (all negative), been micro-chipped and had some major dental work done at a special doggie dentist. Didn’t care too much for that!

My background: I came from a bad situation and Auntie Lisa in KY saved me from some bad people and got me up to Ohio. I came along with a few others. Before we moved to PPR, we lived in a hot shed during the summer with many other pups used for breeding. My prior owners made all the profits and I did all the work. Not anymore – thanks to PPR!

My foster home says that I’m a well-adjusted and good mannered dog – I do not show any signs of being a "mill dog". I’m very socialized. I’m working on my house-training - 80% there and 100% crate trained. I get along with other dogs here (young and old). I’ve not been around cats – so not sure about them.

I love to run out in the yard and chase the other dogs.
I’ve been told that a fenced-in yard would be a must - we dachshunds are escape artists. But... you can’t beat us little fellas – we’re very entertaining to watch and we make wonderful companions. I’ll make a wonderful buddy to the right home.

If you might be interested in learning more about me – email my foster home. Also, check out Puppy Pals Rescue’s events page. I’ll be attending adoption events until we find the right forever loving family for me. Check those dates – and come on out and meet me and my doggie friends.
If you have questions about me, please contact my foster mom at If you think I'm the pup for you, please go to and apply for me!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Roscoe, a Beavercreek Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Beavercreek, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Beavercreek.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Beavercreek already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Beavercreek breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Beavercreek paves the way for another one to be saved.
