My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Available mid November
Jinga
Born 8/27/14 Male Bengal Mix

Jinga came into rescue as a three-week-old bottle baby. The shelter volunteer called him a Bengal mix, on the basis of his appearance. We don’t know just how much Bengal he has, but he is definitely a Bengal Wannabee.

For one thing, he has those beautiful markings you see in the photos, and a rich, brown, soft, silky coat. He has a spotted belly, which happens to be adorably rounded right now. (“Hey, if a guy’s gonna grow, he needs to eat!”) He’s a boy who loves to eat, and when there’s wet food around, he will growl and paw at any other mouth that tries to get into his food bowl. His bravado is quite comical.

He has just the most awesome personality of any kitten his foster mom has fostered, and she fosters plenty each year. He is super outgoing and has to be at the center of his humans’ lives. When you’re on the couch, there he is in your lap, kissing your face. When you’re in bed, there he is beside you. Anywhere you decide to lounge, there he’ll be, and if you’re up and about doing something, he’ll…uh…help. He gets along with other cats and likes toys, but basically his world revolves around his foster parents. His purr will warm your heart, and his antics will make you forget the annoyances of the day.

This little one would make an ideal family kitten. Of course, it’s important for children to be gentle with a kitten, to let the kitty sleep when he’s sleeping, to put him down when he squirms to show he’s had enough of being carried. And of course, it’s crucial for children to understand that they cannot open doors or windows through which he could possibly escape his safe, indoor environment. Other friendly pets would be fine for Jinga, but most of all, he wants a family where there will be a lot of human interaction.

He will come to you neutered, tested, vaccinated and microchipped.

Jinga is fostered in Davis.
