My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Georgie hasn't had much of a chance in life but he is showing himself to be a real gentleman. He is loving all the attention he is getting in his foster home and is really starting to shine. He loves everyone and loves the outdoors. He gets along well with other friendly dogs but is probably not a fan of cats as he has not been socialized with them. Georgie is approximately 1 1/2 - 2 years old and currently weighs 64 lbs.

Here is what his foster family had to say:

Georgie is a friendly, well mannered, loving dog. He loves to be close to his humans and will wedge himself into any corner or crevice just to be close to you. Georgie is extremely smart and a quick learner - he is fully house trained and leash trained. He loves to take long walks and play with his favourite rope toy. He is excitable, but quickly learning not to jump up. He is so handsome and fluffy and absolutely loves to snuggle, especially if you're scratching his chest (Its his spot!) All Georgie wants is just to be loved, and love back even more. However, Georgie does struggle with the proper ways of showing love. His kisses are more him rubbing his mouth on you while his tongue hangs out the side - it really is the cutest thing though.

I have not personally introduced Georgie to children, but he is very friendly with everyone he has met. He is friendly with other friendly dogs but will chase my cats. I would describe Georgies energy level as moderate. He can get quite excited when he first sees you but will tone down after several minutes. He is definitely not a shy dog and instead is outgoing and friendly with everyone.

Georgie is GREAT! when it comes to food. He will not beg, try to steal food or counter surf. He does try and chew stray carpet ends though. Other then that, he is such a gentlemen when it comes to his manners. He knows sit, and he thinks 'lay down' means 'paw'. He also knows 'get off the couch/bed'. Georgie is completely house trained, he didn't even have an accident when first coming into our home. He is crate trained. It is a little bit of a struggle at first but he is great while he is in there. Georgie is completely leash trained. Georgie will go for rides with us when we have to go into hamilton. He is great in the car, and just lays down or puts his snout out the window.

Georgie would fit best in a home where he is the only dog, or with a female dog. He does try to chase cats, but never hurts them. He still needs some training on things such as the jumping - but like i said he is learning quickly. He needs an individual with patience to teach him what's right and wrong. I am not sure how he is with children, as I have not personally introduced them. Georgie will definitely be someone's best friend. I can't express enough how deserving he is.

If you think Georgie would be a good fit for your situation, please submit an application for consideration.
