Archie's Story...
Hi folks, Archie here (foster mom calls me Monkey because I am quite the little character – or so they tell me). Anyway, I have been having quite an adventure these past few months. I’m not even sure how it all began I might have gotten loose from my owners, or maybe I was naughty and they put me outside, but somehow I ended up wandering the streets cold, alone and scared. Then I was scooped up and taken to someplace called a shelter. It was really scary there with all the dogs barking. People would come by and look at me but they would pass me by. Then one day they said my number was up. Great I thought! Does that mean I won the lottery? Well as it turns out, that is what it meant! A nice lady came and took me to her rescue shelter for dogs just like me whose numbers are up. I think this is where we wait to get our prizes. Well sure enough I was loaded on a van and brought to Oregon where the nice folks from 2nd Chances Animal Shelter took me in. Now I live in a foster home with fur sisters and a fur brother. They are teaching me a lot of new things. One day foster mom showed me this strange yellow round object like I should know what to do with that! Foster sister Gracie told me they were called tennis balls and she showed me how to play with them! What fun!!! Oh and they have this thing called a doggie door. I certainly didn’t know what to do with that when I first got there but then my foster sisters and brother showed me how I could go in and out and in and out and in and out! I can go outside whenever I want to now and play or do my business. But when all the fun and playtime is over I do love a good snuggle with my people. What about you? Do you love to snuggle?
I still have a couple of issues that need to be worked out. Since I went for a while without food when I was living on the street, I am a bit possessive of my food so I eat my dinner in the crate which keeps everybody happy. And I like to mark my territory, but we are working on that too.
I am looking for my forever family. Could it be you? Can you make room in your home and your heart for a fun-loving, ball chasing, couch lounging, snuggling character like me? I’m available for adoption to just the right home. I think that my perfect forever home would have kids to play with, maybe a boy or girl 8 or older. It would have another dog or dogs to play with (I get along great with other dogs and love to play with them). I’m not sure about cats, I’m not sure I have ever met one . Oh and if you had one of those doggy doors that would make it like a little slice of Heaven. You can see my portfolio on the 2nd Chances website www.2ndchancesas.org and if you fall in love with me (and why wouldn’t you) fill out an adoption application and the nice folks at 2nd Chances will get in touch with you.
Signing off now. Love Archie.
