My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gracie really knocked our collective socks off upon first meeting. Oh, that face! And, those luminous green eyes! Gracie is the Lauren Bacall of Miniature Pinschers.

Three years old, Gracie came to us, along with her housemate, Ace, from the chaotic, multi-child home of a newly expectant Mom. There had been some random accidental breeding, and Gracie had whelped a litter or two. Of the four dogs in the home, Gracie and Ace were surrendered to us so that we could find them a calm environment, with folks who have the time to focus on their care.

Gracie and Ace seemed bonded at first, but have adapted beautifully to foster care, and we have begun to socialize them separately, so that they could go to separate homes, if need be. It seems that Gracie and Ace's training had been overlooked in their former home. Certainly, they were loved, but structure and leadership were missing, and that can be a recipe for canine disaster! They came to us nervous and fearful, with Gracie hiding behind Ace's false bravado.

Our mission has been to socialize these beauties, and build their confidence with solid obedience work and exercise. Both have made remarkable progress, and will continue to thrive in the patient care of seasoned Min Pin enthusiasts, whose lifestyle allows for enough exercise and obedience work.

Gracie is a high energy flibbety gibbet, who loves to run and play. Obedience training goes a long way in calming her down and helping her focus. Twenty minutes of "thinking" puts Gracie's lights out, and she's ready for a nap.

Although Gracie grew up with small children, she gets worked up around them, so we'd like to see her relax in a calm, adult environment. She would be the ideal companion to an active single or couple with small dog experience. She enjoys other dogs, and would do well in a multi-dog or feline home.

Gracie is a leggy beauty, with petite features and weighing only 10 pounds. Her coat is russet brown, and her eyes are greenish hazel. She is a striking girl with an unusual look. Gracie is a small dog who does well with travel and could easily go airborne in an airline approved Sherpa bag.

Gracie is in excellent health, and has been recently spayed. She has been vaccinated for rabies and DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo and parainfluenza). She has had the 4dx test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. She has been microchipped and dewormed.
