Buddy is a handsome Goldendoodle. He’s 5 years old, weighs 69 pounds, and has a lovely cream colored coat. Sadly, Buddy and his brother Pepper Jack came in to the ARP together as they lost their family and home due to a divorce, but they’ve been loved and well cared for. Buddy does well with people, cats and kids. He loves his people so much that he follows them around like a shadow! He suffers from a little bit of separation anxiety if let alone and will do best with other dogs to keep him company. He does great with a fenced in yard. Buddy is housebroken and knows come, sit, no, stay and sometimes down. He will jump and bark a little bit when he’s excited, but this could probably be easily corrected. We would love to adopt Buddy and Pepper Jack as a pair since they’ve been together for years, but we know it is not always possible to adopt two dogs, so we’ll separate them if necessary.

The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed.
All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws.
Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $25 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization.
The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.
