My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"Once upon a time there was a little Beagle puppy named Brady and he lived his whole life in a nice big warm house and never went hungry or felt any pain or ever got sick…"
OK, that is NOT my story! I was recently saved from a shelter by the Mississippi River and I have had a miserable time up until now. Three days before coming to my new foster family I had surgery to remove several growths and a cancerous tumor. Most of the cancer in my hind leg was removed but there is a chance that it might spread. And did I mention that I was neutered that same day? Talk about your rotten luck!
I am between 8 and 10 years old and 32 pounds of solid muscle, although I am almost completely deaf. Everyone thinks that I was a hunting dog and when I grew too old and could not hear commands, the hunters abandoned me. Funny thing though, I have not had one accident in the house and always go to the front door when it’s time to go potty. That’s pretty smart for an “outside dog”, don’t you think?
Sleeping is one of my favorite ways to spend the day and at night I sleep on one of the many dog beds we have here (I live with four other Beagles now and we all get along great!). I’m a gentle, relaxed guy who enjoys walking and sniffing and I do well on a leash.
Don’t I sound like a wonderful companion? Will you be the one to adopt me so that my Fairy Tale can read, “And he lived happily ever after”?
Note from foster home: Brady has obviously been neglected in the past, but he is a fantastic friendly boy who has the sweetest personality. As you can see from his pictures, he has a “sad clown” face and beautiful eyes. He deserves a better life!
