My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Hank, the Gentle Giant! Hank is a fun-loving one year old male lab-pittbull mix who weighs in at 74lbs, who he thinks he's a lap dog. Imagine Nana from "Peter Pan" and "Clifford the Big Red Dog" all rolled up into a large one-year old puppy and you have a snapshot of Hank.

Hank has been friendly and appropriate with all animals he's met, including another male pit, a female Rottie, a male mixed breed, a duck (!), pet rats, and a cat. He is young, energetic, and interested in everything. Hank would do great in an active home that's used to big, enthusiastic dogs!

Hank's enthusiasm is not just expressed in his eagerness to play with other dogs, or play ball, (see the video for his "drop it" skills!), but also in his constantly wagging tail. His tail does NOT stop, and he has that happy slow wag when he's relaxing, or a whole body wiggle and loosey-goosey swag that just travels from his nose to the tip of his tail. Hank also loves to show affection by providing free face and hand-washing. Just ask his toddler foster brother!

Hank is house-broken, up to date on his vaccines, neutered, and working on his leash manners. He is a bundle of love who would thrive in a role as ambassador for large dogs everywhere and would be excellent at providing comfort to those in need.

If you are interested in finding out more about Hank, please fill out an application. Hank is being fostered in Shrewsbury.

The adoption fee is $300.

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.Hank
