Millie's Story...
Hi! I am Millie. They say I am a lab mix - but in reality, I am 100% lap dog! Stare into my eyes, golden like my fur and you will see my desire to please and my fun-loving, curious nature. Before my foster family offered me refuge from the big winter storm, I spent most of my days in the kennels, frolicking in the yard with my friends. Now I am in this thing they call a house and they have couches and chairs and comfy warm blankets to sleep on! I even sleep in a crate when they ask me to. I love to be close to people, hike, romp in the snow, play tug of war with my foster brother and play catch with treats. As much as I love the indoors, I do love being outside! My foster family likes to go on long walk - I am great on the leash and like to walk 3-5 miles every day! That's right...I have solved your 2016 fitness resolution! I have never been introduced to cats and have limited experience with little children... but, once I can learn to mind my manners, momma says I should do just fine with kids! Now...I have to be honest...do need a loving home who will put up with my occasional loud breathing...I have a collapsed trachea which doesn't bother me, slow me down or require any special medical care, just makes me sound like freight train when I get too excite - and I do get excited when I get to go play and meet new people. I am looking for a forever friend who will keep me active, smile back at me, put up with my occasional loud breathing, give me treats, and let me play inside or in a big, fenced in yard and will take me on long walks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Millie, a Midlothian Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Midlothian, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Midlothian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Midlothian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Midlothian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Midlothian paves the way for another one to be saved.
