Rebounding's Story...
Rebounding or “Zen”, her barn name, is a 6 year old Thoroughbred mare that only raced once and retired completely sound. She stands 16.1 hands and has no vices. Her current owner has had her since she left the track at the age of 3. Zen has done training level dressage including leg yields and has jumped a cross rail here and there with no issues whatsoever. She has been ridden on and off last few years due to her owners busy schedule. At the moment she is being ridden by a boarder or two once or twice a week and has not put a foot wrong. Go to goodhorse.org to see her pedigree, her race record and see video of her longeing. Zen is an affectionate mare that stands great for both the vet and farrier – even standing in cross ties while her feet are done. She gets along with both mares and geldings in the field. She loves to nuzzle and would love to find her forever person. UTD on everything including dental. She is located in Brandywine, Maryland and available to an approved home only. Her adoption fee is $300.

  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Upper Marlboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Thoroughbred breeders who help with Thoroughbred rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Upper Marlboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
