My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Scarlett is a one beautiful girl! She is young at heart and SUPER SMART, so be ready to take charge and be on your toes if you think she might be right for your family. She bonds quickly to people and is very strong for her size. She can open a gate with her nose, so she is savvy and sly.

She loves to be petted and craves attention. She likes to know where everyone is at all times which is pretty typical of the breed since they are inherent herders by nature.

Name: Scarlett

Good with other dogs: Yes
Good with cats: Assessing
Good with children: Good with all people thus far

Scarlett entered the group the week of Oct 28, 2014 and we know she won't last long but she is not for the novice GSD owner. You need to be one step ahead of most shepherds and she is certainly no exception. She is a fun dog and would be a great jogging companion and of course be the star pupil in any training class. Be ready for LOTS of compliments if you adopt Scarlett since her looks will draw anyone and everyone to you for a quick pet and look see. So if you're a loner and like to be left alone, please pass on her because she will draw a crowd.

She does need some socialization, a little work on her manners, but she wants to please. Her level of energy needs to be drained each day by a long walk or short runs. She acts like a puppy still, a bit mouthy but that is a training issue and she is up to any challenge.

We expect every shepherd we adopt to be part of a family, inside the home with their people ( their pack) and included when going on outings where appropriate. Please don't apply unless you intend to give this girl a loving, engaging home for her to belong to.

If you are interested in adopting Scarlett, please go to our website to complete our adoption application and someone will get in touch with you.
