My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Perry Is Adopted

Perry is currently being fostered in Mentor Ohio, and his adoption donation/fee is $300

Perry is an adorable little 2 yr old black and white male cocker spaniel. He came into our rescue from a shelter in the Youngstown Ohio area. He was an owner surrender to the shelter, however we were not able to acquire any history on why he was surrendered, or his general health or temperament.
He was not doing well at the shelter, he was there for 4 months, and was barking and growling in his cage. He was very fearful and reactive while there, and the amount of time he spent in that environment had made him extremely stressed!!
He has been in foster care since October the 14th, and has made so much progress from the scared, growly, reactive boy he was!!

He has proven to be very loving and affectionate, happy go lucky little guy!!! He does however, have an un easiness with other dogs, it appears he was never around others, or maybe had a bad experience with one, we can only guess? What we do see with him is that he tolerates other dogs, and is not mean or aggressive towards them. He has not taken much interest in having any interaction or playing with the other dogs in his foster home, and is always cautious around them.

Perry know sit, NO, and is working on his "shake", he walks ok on a leash but will pull if not wearing an anti-pull harness. Most of all Perry loves his human, he will follow them everywhere, and wants to be with them whenever possible, he can be in a home with other dogs, and can do ok, but we think he needs time to adjust and settle into a new environment. He can be fearful with new people in the early days of meeting them, but as long as he is handled correctly, he warms up nicely.

Perry is a good little dog that has all of the potential to become a great dog with the right owners able to work with him. His house training skills are good as long as he is taken out, and not put out by himself, he tends to stand at the door to come back in, and doesn't do his business unless his person goes out with him.

Perry is neutered, Heartworm Negative and up to date on his vaccines.
