Pepe is a 6-lb. Japanese Chin x Chihuahua with a bigger than life attitude! Pepe was given up because he was too barky and snappy with young children. Let’s face it small dogs can be yappy, snappy, pint-sized troublemakers who are often protective, wary and not good with children. Pepe must find an experienced guardian who is going to work with him and do some obedience training. Instead of relying on control through obedience training for tiny dogs, people seem to find it easier to simply lift them and carry them; this handling has its price. It often makes little dogs aggressive or sensitive to touch, which causes them to dislike being reached for, pulled or petted -- they turn into armpit piranhas. We are hoping to find a guardian for Pepe who will use positive reinforcement training that will clearly communicate to him and teach him the basic commands required to become a good canine citizen. Pepe is a fun-loving, affectionate little guy after introductions are properly made and he does not feel threatened by his surroundings. He loves to run and enjoys going for walks. He is okay with other dogs but he tends to be bossy. Pepe requires an adult home. If you feel that you can are the one to get Pepe back on track, please fill in the Adoption Form.
