Prince's Info...

Prince's Story...
Prince was found by a Good Samaritan with his leash tied to a post in a construction yard and his collar partially imbedded. She talked his owner into giving him to her and in turn she surrendered him to Sunny Saints. He was not very well socialized and had a great fear of the leash and collar (understandably). He had had no training whatsoever, so with patience, love and training he has overcome the odds and made a remarkable transformation in just a short few months. He now walks well on the leash, knows his indoor manners (potty trained) and is social with other dogs and all people. He requires a strong leader to keep him on track with his training. He does remain food aggressive with other dogs, but not with people, so it would be best if Prince were the only dog in the home, or adopted by a family who is familiar with resource guarding and how to manage it in a multi-dog family. It is estimated that Prince is now about 10 months old and weighs 125 pounds, so will be a big boy when he grows up. If you feel that you would be a good fit for the family that Prince requires, please fill out and submit an on line adoption application at www.sunnysaints.org and you will be contacted shortly.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Prince, a Bellflower St. Bernard puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a St. Bernard for sale in Bellflower, or seeking a St. Bernard puppy from a breeder in Bellflower.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellflower already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellflower breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even St. Bernard breeders who help with St. Bernard rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellflower paves the way for another one to be saved.
