My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Willow is an 18 month old Flat Coat Retriever mix. She was originally rescued from Youngstown, Ohio. She weighs in at about 42 pounds, with medium length black (double coat) fur. She still has plenty of her puppy energy left in her; she's the type of dog that loves to be out on the trail, hiking, running, swimming, playing fetch and yes, even sometimes chasing her tail! She's a sweet, loving dog that had an unfair beginning -- she's shy at first, especially to adult men, but loves any and all attention. It may take her a few to open up, but she's a very compassionate dog. She's especially great around small kids. She would love a quiet home where she could be taken out for plenty of exercise. She is bonded with Ryder. Together they make a great team. They do get quite excited when they see another dog out on the street or know that somebody has arrived but will calm down only after a minute. They share food/treats extremely well and never "fight" over anything. Both of them also take turns being more assertive. They are really looking for a home with a decently sized fenced in yard, with a family who loves to hike and be outside. Ryder would even make a great running partner. They would be OK being in a home with other pets too. They come from a home with a cat and get along with him just fine.
