GEMMA's Info...

I am already spayed, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

GEMMA's Story...
Gemma is a 18-24 months old female black and white BC, perhaps mixed with a
bit of Aussie. She is mostly white with mottling on her. She came into the
shelter with a litter of pups, so she is not looking her best right now as
she is blowing her coat. She is still a bit nervous when she meets you, but
is learning to trust as she gains confidence. She is fine with other dogs.

If you are interested in meeting our dogs, please go on line and fill out an adoption application. We require a pre-approved application to be on file before any meet and greets are scheduled. The electronic application can be found on our website at http://www.bordercolliesinneed.org/border_collie_rescue_and_adoptions/adoption_application.html

Why Adoption is a Great Option

GEMMA, a San Pedro Border Collie/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Border Collie for sale in San Pedro, or seeking a Border Collie/Border Collie dog from a breeder in San Pedro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Pedro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Pedro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Pedro paves the way for another one to be saved.
