It's hard to imagine this truly beautiful (inside and out) Schnauzer mix in a high-kill shelter in Houston. A compassionate Farfel's rescuer saved Milton's life and nursed his body and spirit back to joy and well-being. It's now getting to the time when Milton is ready to be transported to his new life in Colorado. Although it will be terribly hard for Milton's foster mom to say goodbye...she knows that he will have a great life. The following is a description of Milton by his foster mom who loves him so much: --Milton is such a sweet guy that's truly blossoming. I've enjoyed watching him shine! He greeted me from the start with a wagging tail and a big kiss on my cheek. It's always amazing to me that these dogs have such hard starts in life and can be so sweet and well-adjusted. Milton loves to be a lap dog and be close to you all day long..he is a pretty docile dog for being a year old.
milton is approximately 25 lb healthy pup. He would do well with a family who is home a lot to go on walks with, because he loves walks, and also cuddle with - he would love that! After Milton has had exercise and mental stimulation, he's ready to chill on the couch. Milton loves to snuggle, be petted and is a general love bug! His gorgeous hair is on the low shedding side, so a periodic grooming and great nutrition would be perfect to keep his coat as beautiful as it can be.
Milton really enjoys the company of other dogs. Milton LOVES to play with other dogs. It is his favorite activity in the world. All dogs are amazing to him and he wants to be best friends with all of them. When he is not playing with other dogs he is sitting on the fosters lap, because he believes he is a lap dog. He will literally hold onto your arm with his from legs as if saying, "mama this is where I am meant to be, lets just stay here are night"
Milton is fully potty trained!!

He does seem to appreciate those that are respectful of his smaller size. Morton is excellent with my 88 year old mom, but might be a bit energetic on a full-time basis for a very elderly senior.
Morton is a truly smart pup - true to his breeds! What a gem of a best friend for an active family who wants to include a very cute and sweet dog in their life. He was the soccer mascot at my kid's school last week and was the star of the day! Morton must have had fifty hugs and loved every second of it.
