Jackson is a sweet family dog who is seeking his new forever home! He adores the young and old alike – he is great with kids, and is very patient. He dotes (gently!) on his 5-year old human foster brother, and loves being his buddy’s pillow. He has also become quite attached to his foster grandmother. Jackson is an approximately 90 lb. Labradane mix who embodies all the positive qualities of both the Labrador Retriever and the Great Dane—loyal, playful, goofy, very trainable, and very cuddly! He knows commands such as sit, down, “lay down,” heel, and paw shakes (he only gets his meals after he sits and offers his paw, he’s a good boy like that). He is good on a leash and on walks, although he can be scared of loud traffic. He prefers to be around people as much as possible, and he could use some help managing his separation anxiety. Although crate trained and fully housebroken, he does not like being in a crate for extended periods of time. He loves to have cuddle time with his humans, but he is under two years old, and still loves to play a lot. He needs an active, loving home where he will be giving the adoration he so deserves. He comes from a family going through an extremely difficult transition, and they could not keep him due to overwhelming circumstances. He is up to date on his shots, is microchipped, up to date on flea and heartworm prevention, and had a thorough vet evaluation recently. He is heartworm negative.
