Meet JACOB:
JACOB is a very rare, akc, Isabella, violet colored tweenie Dachshund. He is 6.5 yrs old and weighs 18 lbs. He is very friendly, happy, has excellent behavior and LOVES his toys. JACOB has been absolutely doted upon but now finds himself needing a new home and family to love him. He would like to be the one and only but could live with a sweet lady (spayed) doxie. JACOB is very healthy. He's in great shape and loves to run and play, so he will definitely need a secure fenced yard at his new home. He's up to date on his shots, neutered and fully vetted. Because he is such an active little doxie, JACOB will do best with someone who is retired or works from home and can spend a lot of time with him and once you meet him, you'll want to do just that!
OUR CRITERIA (aka The Fine Print):
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember, these are rescues; many were surrendered because of these issues.
WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN WITH YOUR LITTLE RESCUE:
All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Pyrantyl, nails trimmed, and dental when needed. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.
