This is Mayflower. We think that she is a Doberman and German Shepherd mix female pup. She is about 11 months old. Check out those ears! Look at that focus. Smart girl! This lovely gal is currently located in an adoptable kennel at the City of Sacramento shelter, known at the Front Street Shelter.
The shelter staff says that she is affectionate and sensitive. She is also an energetic pup - Dobie/German Shepherds are a wonderful mix for an active couple. Perhaps she would make an excellent running companion for someone. Staff says she is playful and a little bit timid. An experienced owner could work on socializing this girl to be an awesome dog with lots of potential. Mayflower has a bad puppy habit of jumping up on people; a habit that is easily broken with consistent training. We feel that Mayflower is a lovely female but based on our experience with this breed mix, perhaps she would do best in a home with no young kids (due to her energy) and with an experienced owner. This lovely girl deserves a great home.
We think that Mayflower has lots of potential and would make the perfect companion for the right person.
