Phoebe's Story...
Phoebe: Every so often, we get a cat that has a zen-like approach to life: calm, comfortable in their own fur, they just seem like gentle and wise souls who have seen it all. That's our Phoebe. Relaxed just about all of the time, this 5-6 year old Maine Coon -- and he looks like he's purebred -- is totally non-reactive and unflappable. This large (almost 20 lbs.) boy loves everyone and will flip over as soon as he meets you so he can get some belly rubs. Playing with toys would interfere with his zen-like state, so he isn't interested in toys. He gets along well with dogs and other cats. WAG only accepts applications from New Hampshire residents and from residents of communities in Maine, Vermont, and Massachusetts that are on the New Hampshire border.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Phoebe, a Weare Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Weare, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Weare.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Weare already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Weare breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Weare paves the way for another one to be saved.
