Skip's Story...
AVAILABLE 11-06-14 Sweet Skip came to the Shelter as a stray when he was trapped and brought to the Shelter by an Animal Control Officer. Although he was very scared when he arrived, it was obvious that Skip was a sweet friendly guy. It also turned out that he had been neutered, so we thought someone would certainly be looking for him. But his hold time is now up and no one has called or come in to claim him; so Skip is now available for adoption. He's a handsome guy with his long silky fur. He's also playful and appreciates a nice pet and some attention. Skip's shots are now up to date and he's waiting for that special someone to come to the Shelter in Elizabeth City and decide he needs to become the new feline member of their family. IF that might be you, please come in and meet this very special gentleman named Skip.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Skip, a Elizabeth City Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Elizabeth City, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Elizabeth City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elizabeth City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elizabeth City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elizabeth City paves the way for another one to be saved.
