Colby's Story...
Colby is a handsome and house-trained 1.5-year old blue merle and tri-color Blue Tick Hound mix we rescued from Merced. He's a mellow, quiet guy who you can trust not to 'get into things' in the house. Colby's been very gentle with the kids in his foster home. He's super friendly to adults and children, and all dogs he's met. He walks great on leash, sleeps in his crate, and hasn't had any accidents so far in the house. His second day out of the shelter he did great at the dog park, impressing everyone with his gorgeous markings. He gives lots of kisses if you let him and enjoys sleeping next to you on the couch. He settles in easily and you can tell he just wants a home of his own. Maybe it's that hound nose of his, but he loves borrowing some of your personal items and collecting them to sleep with--like he's comforted having your scent with him.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Colby, a Sunnyvale Bluetick Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bluetick Coonhound for sale in Sunnyvale, or seeking a Bluetick Coonhound dog from a breeder in Sunnyvale.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sunnyvale already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sunnyvale breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bluetick Coonhound breeders who help with Bluetick Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sunnyvale paves the way for another one to be saved.
