Meet McKenzie!
She is a young adult Labrador retriever that we rescued from a rural kill shelter in West Tennessee. She is a typical young lab that loves to run and exercise but also loves her humans and is an attention seeker/ lap dog wanna be. McKenzie is ok with SOME dogs, but not consistently. She is an alpha female and will not turn the other cheek if an aggressor approaches her. She is unpredictable with other dogs and therefore we do not recommend that she go to a home with other animals or be a "dog park" or" doggy day care" dog. She would thrive in a home as an only pet where there was no competition and all of the attention could be hers. She has not shown any aggressive behavior towards humans and was also exposed to a 3 year old child during a one week stay with a local family and did very well. Her fosters have described her as " very sweet"...just needs some work. She is house and crate trained, needs work with leash walking, and is capable of climbing a 4 foot chain link fence so if her new home has a fenced yard, she will require a yard with a tall fence...nothing that can be used as a "ladder". She is a stunning girl with great potential to the right adopter. If you think that McKenzie is a good match for you, please let us know that you are interested.
