Storm's Story...
*Storm and Whisper are a pair.
Storm is around 5 months old and came to us in rough shape a couple months ago. We found out from an eye specialist that she is blind in one eye and has a small cataract in the other eye. This doesn't seem to bother her though. She also has a broken tail. Storm loves to play with her cage mate Whisper. They enjoy each others company and have both been very therapeutic for one another. Whisper was nervous and shy when she first came in but has found a sense of purpose and confidence in her role as surrogate mother for Storm. They would make a lovely pair. If you're interested in meeting or adopting them please fill out an application at www.shelterforcats.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Storm, a Winchendon Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Winchendon, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Winchendon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Winchendon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Winchendon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Winchendon paves the way for another one to be saved.
