My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

One look at this face and we were intrigued and just had to know what his breed mix is! We could not get over those darling little tiny ears. Well, we're still not sure about those ears but here are the results of his DNA test:

Parent 1: American Staffordshire Terrier
Parent 2: 1/2 German Shepherd Dog & 1/2 Miniature (!) Bull Terrier

It turns out that this is a fantastic combination as handsome Baloo is the sweetest boy. He is a young and energetic 2 yrs old and so very much wants to please. He knows sit and is crate-trained and is gentle taking treats and will wait patiently to eat his meals.

He is a big boy of 75-80 lbs, tall and long-legged. He has no idea how big he is and tends to be a bit of a "bull in a china shop" in small spaces - that tail is wagging constantly! We think Baloo would love, love, love kids but bigger ones would be best for his family since he is so large and a bit clueless about it...

Baloo loves people and other dogs. He cannot be in a home with cats, however, as he is way too interested in them! He truly wants to please and only wants to know what it will take to make his person happy. He learned in just a couple of days that it makes his foster mom very happy when he sleeps and eats in his crate. So now he is crate-trained! OK, so the treats in the crate didn't hurt... Balou is SO easily trained, with that combination of treat motivation and wanting to please.

This big handsome boy is high energy and would make a great running and/or hiking companion. He has been great with all the dogs he has met so far at the rescue ranch. Because of his size, he can be a bit intimidating to much smaller dogs and small children although he doesn't always realize this. He is amazingly gentle and kind with kids, though, and and has lived with a small dog very nicely. But no kitties for Baloo's new home!

Baloo is neutered, current on vaccinations, and ready to go to his forever home to be loved.
