Nola's Story...
Hi! My name is Nola and I'm a two year old female Golden/Great Pyrenees mix. My family could no longer give me the attention I needed so they took me to their local shelter. That's where AGK stepped in - they saved me! I was pretty scared and depressed at the shelter, I felt so alone. Now that I'm in foster I am doing much better! I still am whiny at times, I have a slight bit of separation anxiety...can you blame me? I get along great with all people and dogs - not sure about cats. I do like to bark at things out in the yard (that's the Great Pyr in me, haha). If you are interested in a sweet and loving girl, ask for me - Nola!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nola, a Roanoke Golden Retriever/Great Dane dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever/Great Dane for sale in Roanoke, or seeking a Golden Retriever/Great Dane dog from a breeder in Roanoke.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Roanoke already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Roanoke breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever/Great Dane breeders who help with Golden Retriever/Great Dane rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Roanoke paves the way for another one to be saved.
