found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already spayed, a special needs pet, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.
Considering all the amazing qualities she has, it's hard to believe she doesn't have her forever home yet. Unfortunately, Fawn does have two things holding her back. One, is that Fawn has hip dysplasia in both of her hips. Fawn currently gets along fantastically; You'd never know she has anything wrong the way she races around outside. However, as time goes on it will get worse if surgery is not performed. We are currently raising the money to get Fawn her surgery though! She would really love to recuperate in a foster or forever home rather than at the shelter. After her surgery she will be on strict cage rest until she's all healed up, which can scare some people away.
Fawn's other issue is that she bonds very closely with her people, and can become protective of them. She spent several months in a foster home with multiple children that she did fantastic with, and prior to that lived in a home with a man that she got along great with. However, Fawn does not do so well with strangers. She has to be kept crated whenever new people come over, as she thinks she needs to protect her people and her home. She will do best in a home with few visitors, and with someone who doesn't mind the little extra work it takes to manage her when people do come over.
We know Fawn is not an "easy" dog. However, we think she's beyond worth it! Fawn is one of the sweetest dogs ever once she knows you, and is so full of live and love that we just can't give up on her. Someone out there is looking for a dog just like Fawn, we just have to find them! If you think you'd be a good fit for Fawn (even just as a foster), or if you can not adopt but would like to donate to her care, feel free to call the shelter or check out our website for more info on her.
