I know you have never met a more grateful and happy little puppy boy in the whole world than me! I am Asher, a terrier mix (they think!), born in April, 2014. I started out my little life unwanted...so that family took my sisters and brothers to a big grocery store and gave us to anyone who would take us. Boy, that sure is not a good way to find a loving, responsible home! A family couldn't resist me and took me to their house... but they soon lost interest in me, didn't feed me and left me outside all by myself. They finally called a lady to take me...or 'else I would be dying soon.' She rushed to get me, and I was a very sad looking little boy. I was covered with all kinds of fleas and ticks .... she spent hours removing them ...in my ears, between my toes, my head,my face, legs, back, tummy - I was covered and so much of my fur was missing. They were literally eating me alive. My little paws were so swollen and infected. My foster Mom cried as she tended to me.....I just laid very still but wagged my tail to let her know I appreciated her love and kindness. She gave me a warm bath after she got all of those nasty ticks off of me and then we went to the vets. I got LOTS of medicines, flea and tick preventative, antibiotics, mothers milk replacement, probiotics, Benadryl and puppy food... but I was still too sick for any shots. She rubbed my body with an all natural healing cream when we got home and then she wrapped me in a soft towel and rocked me to sleep on the front porch. She'd kiss me from time to time, telling me this is how God meant for me to be treated. I never knew that you could feel this good on both the 'inside and the outside'.... love is sure feels good. I have gained so much weight, my fur has grown back in and, boy oh boy, am I a happy, healthy little puppy boy! The vet thought I might weigh 25 lbs but they are thinking I might not get that big! I love to run and play and chase and chew on my toys....and I never want to stop, unless it is for a little nap! She has lots of dogs at her house and they all love me....even her cats love me! I am crate trained and even house trained...she said that is very important. Everyone says I am very sweet and loving....she taught me what sweet and loving means by the way she has cared for me. I follow her everywhere she goes...I'm her little shadow. I'm very smart and she is teaching me so much...I am house and crate trained and you should see me walk nicely on my leash! I have lots of toys and I love playing fetch with them. My foster Mom really loves me but she says that it is time for me to have my very own forever family.....one that will love and care for me. She is very good at finding wonderful families... and she says that my new family will absolutely treasure me! Are you my new forever family? Sweet sweet Betsy loves everybody, and everybody loves Betsy!I am so excited because my foster Mom told me I am going to have a FOREVER family and home...my very own forever people! I am a beautiful brindle Mountain Cur and Lab mix....doesn't that just tell you how sweet and gentle I am? I am very laid back and relaxed and I have lovely manners. I would never dream of jumping up on people or being a 'wild girl!' I am house trained and get along wonderfully with kids, adults and other dogs. I'm just an all around sweet girl! Oh, and I love belly rubs. Have you been looking for me? I'm here, just waiting for you...my forever family!
