My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mendy is a 7 month old Black Lab mix girl with the shiniest black coat, weighing about 35 lbs now. She is now house and dog door trained. She grew up to be 5 month old or so without hardly any human interaction. So Mendy is a bit shy especially when you are standing up straight and you are a lot taller than she is, or if you are a new person in her life. It will take a special person that has time to work with her, but it will be so rewarding when she comes around completely. At her foster home they knew she was improving when they woke up one morning and Mendy had made her way from the corner she was hiding in, to the upstairs bedroom and onto the bed. She was sleeping at their feet undetected probably all night and that was the first time she let anyone touch her, lying right next to her on the same level. Dogs in the bed are not everyone's thing, but it is for Mendy. She walks nice on leash if you take your time putting it on. She jumps in the van pretty well now, because she is learning that it's taking her to fun places like the lake and the pet store. She is very food motivated, so treats work wonders and rewarding her is so important for all the little steps she makes. Mendy loves to play ball and is great with other dogs. She knows doggy language very well and is on the submissive side. It would be great if she had an existing buddy she could run and play with. Mendy is okay with cats, not aggressive, just very curious and we would suggest you watch her at first so she does not chase them. ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.
