Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, I'm Sarah, a tiny little beagle mix, full grown at only 12 inches tall and 15 lbs. The vet thinks I am about 18 months old. My foster family calls me "Sarah Lee" because I'm as sweet as a pastry! My beagle mom and I ended up in a shelter in the Houston area and thankfully my affiliation with a beagle got me a ride to the rescue group. Mom never told me anything about dad, so we will just have to guess about that!
I am a silly little girl according to my foster parents. I keep them laughing most of the time. My favorite things are bugging the older beagles at the house, pulling stuffing out of toys, sitting on my foster dad's lap to give him kisses, lining up at the kitchen cabinet with the other dogs for treats, checking out the backyard for interesting scents, and just generally scurrying around making sure I am not left out of anything! I know how to go in and out a doggie door and I am great on house-training! I sleep in a crate at night so that I won't be bothering any of the other dogs, but I would love to sleep in the bed with the humans if you adopt me and invite me to do it!
My foster mom says that I can be an "only" dog because I do love the humans, or I could be a playmate for another dog. I do play rough and tumble, love to wrestle and chase, so an older dog would not be too fond of my playing style. I'd be tempted to de-stuff your toddler's favorite bear which might be upsetting to some kids. I will chase and fetch a dog toy though, which would be fun for older kids. I'm very lively on leash and would make a great walking companion!
