My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOSTER LOCATION: Twin Falls, ID

Cuteness ALERT! Cuteness ALERT!!

If you don’t want cute, sweet, loving and adorable wrapped up in one package then stop reading right now. Daisy is an 8 year old Papillion (possibly purebred) who lived with a senior woman her entire life; when her human was no longer able to care for her she was turned into a shelter. Shelter life is stressful enough for dogs but Daisy is deaf and that makes things that much harder so Fuzzy Pawz Rescue placed her in their foster program.

Daisy loves to be wherever her person is and will stick fairly close to you inside the house or out and she loves to go for a ride in the car with you. She loves to go for a walk and is great on a leash. While Daisy is a total love and an absolute joy she does startle easily; so no kids under 12 please.

Daisy is a smart girl and reacts well to hand signals and will thrive if her training continues. It's as easy to train a deaf dog as a hearing dog, the only difference is you use hand signals instead of verbal commands. There are easy tricks to working with deaf dogs; stomping your foot to make the floor vibrate is always a good one and using very smelly treats to attract their attention. Daisy is very food motivated so training is easy.

Daisy grew up with another Papillion and is currently living with another dog in her foster home. She gets along with other dogs, as long as they stay out of her face; she’s not big on pushy, bossy dogs.

She is house trained and will scratch at the door when she is ready to come back inside; we think using a bell on either side of the door would work great for her. You do have to watch her at the front door as she will sometimes try to bolt; but a bit of training on the “wait” command and that will no longer be an issue. She doesn't get on the furniture unless she is prompted too. She will go in her crate when prompted.

Daisy is just a sweet, lovely, loyal little girl who would do best in a home where people are around most of the day. A retired couple would be perfect for her.

Daisy is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped

If you can offer Daisy a lifetime of happiness please fill out the application for her at http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ and her foster Mom will get back to you quickly.

There is a $75 adoption fee for Daisy
