Moriah's Story...
Moriah is a precious, Chow/Shepherd mix. She is approximately 8 years old and weighs 54 pounds. She is very sweet and affectionate and has a low-moderate energy level. She always looks like she is smiling and her tail never stops wagging. She is great with kids and we are still in the process of evaluating her with other dogs and with cats.
She was found as a stray in Memphis in the middle of a busy road named Mt. Moriah...a very nice lady stopped to help her and she jumped right into the car. She was pregnant and gave birth to one surviving puppy who has been placed through another rescue. She also tested positive for heartworms and is in the final couple of weeks following her Immiticide injections. All of her vetting was generously provided and funded by the amazing couple who found her. They contacted MTGSR to ask if we would accept her into our program and Moriah's story touched our heart so we gladly welcomed her.
All dogs adopted from Middle Tennessee German Shepherd Rescue are spayed/neutered, current on all vaccinations and microchipped. For more information or to request an adoption application, please email us at adoption.mtgsr@gmail.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Moriah, a Nashville Chow Chow/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chow Chow/Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Nashville, or seeking a Chow Chow/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Nashville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Nashville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Nashville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chow Chow/Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Chow Chow/Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Nashville paves the way for another one to be saved.
