Important Note

Anubis is best friends with Mixer. Please adopt both of them so they can stay together!
Get a load of this girl! This is Anubis, but she's been known to answer to Nubsies, Newbie, and NubbyButt, among many, many others.
Anubis has been waiting for her perfect forever home to scoop her up for quite some time, although we can't quite figure out why it's taken so long for someone to discover her. Sweet Anubis has never met a stranger. If she was a person, her dream job would be a Wal-Mart greeter because her favorite thing in the world is making new friends! Everyone Anubis greets gets a free tail wag, and if you're extra lucky, she'll offer you her paw to shake as well.
Anubis is your typical terrier breed, so even though this girl is low energy for the most part, this girl has been known to have some adorable spurts of energy. She is not suited for a home with other animals, but with this winning personality and charm, she is all you could ever ask for.
Anubis walks perfectly on a leash, and even knows to sit and wait for her leash to go on and for her person to walk out of the door before she follows. She knows basic obedience, several tricks, and is working on being more polite to other animals. Anubis has come a very, very long way since the scared little dog we first met at the shelter, and she just wants a chance to show her new family how good she can be. Anubis' training is also sponsored for her entire life by our trainer, who accidentally let Anubis steal her heart too! Please give Anubis a chance to wiggle herself into your heart and you'll hvae a friend for life.

About Virginia Paws for Pits

About Our Rescue Group...

VPFP is on a mission to educate the public on the misconceptions that go hand in hand with "pit bulls" we strive to match families with the perfect dog for their lifestyle and activity level to ensure that the adoption is a success for all involved. Pit bulls and mixes account for 58% of dogs in shelters and nearly 2800 are killed every day in the united states. We promote spaying and neutering in the community and encourage our adopters to use their dogs as ambassadors for this misunderstood class of dogs, by going out into the community and making a difference.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fees vary from $50-$250 depending on the age of the animal, the amount of care provided, and the duration of their time in our rescue program. You can apply online via our website and we will be in touch with you in 48-72 hours. We do a reference check with your vet to make sure all animals in the home are current on vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered. We verify with landlords that the applicant can have a pet and there are no size or breed restrictions and finally we conduct a home inspection. Once approved there is an additional contract to sign stating that the adopter is taking over responsibility of the dog and that if at ANY time he/she is unable to care for the dog they must be returned to VPFP with ample notification to our board members.
